At KANGAROO KIDS, the main focus is on confidence building and self-esteem development besides pure enjoyment. We work on the premise that children have their own learning style. A child may selectively be able to learn visually, auditory and kinesthetically (touch based) or he or she may learn effectively through just one of the modalities. Each session is a carefully programmed blend of stimulating activities that provide children with a range of learning / absorbing possibilities.
THE KANGAROO KIDS CLUB consists of three individual stations- Motor, Drama and Language.
The Motor Development Station is used to provide opportunities for varied sensory experiences and movements that assist maturation of the brain and nervous system and develop connections between the senses and the brain. The language and Drama Stations provide a variety of programs that will help develop early language, pre-writing, pre-reading and imaginative play skills.
Motor: There is a great interplay of brain and body in each child. This led us to focus on “Movement for Learning”. The activities at the M.D.S are developed to assist each child awaken and activate his / her mental capacity.
Features of the Motor Station
- Having the best equipments like balance beams, trampolines, obstacle course and parachutes are all used as exciting catalysts for movement in the Motor Development Program.
- Perceptual Motor Program [P.M.P] – Specific movement patterns woven into each session that helps focus on stimulating the sensory motor system and integrating it, helping the child’s brain to sort, organize and put messages together. The P.M.P helps children to achieve accelerated learning, improved co-ordination and an improved ability to focus on tasks.
- Music and Movement – Music, rhythm and dance are integral part of the Motor Station and aid in developing listening skills, sequencing language and motor co-ordination.
- Climbing frames that can be adjusted and altered to suit each child’s needs are aimed at improving muscle tone, balance and body awareness.
- The KANGAROO KIDS Club has a wide range of commercially produced resources and manipulative equipment used to develop eye-hand co-ordination and the manual dexterity necessary to write.
